Our Experience Today

Future Tuition combines the personal approach of an established tuition provider with extensive experience in teaching, educational leadership and mathematics education.

Since Future Tuition was originally established in 2011, my experience in education has continued to develop significantly. Today, our provision draws on more than 15 years of teaching in the UK, including experience across secondary and sixth-form education.

Experience across the curriculum

Tuition and educational support can be tailored to the individual needs and stage of each pupil, drawing on experience of:

  • Primary Mathematics

  • 11+ preparation

  • Key Stage 3 Mathematics

  • GCSE/IGCSE Mathematics

  • A level Mathematics

  • Core Maths

  • Individual support and small-group learning

  • Exam preparation and revision

  • Building confidence where pupils have gaps in their understanding

Experienced educational leadership

As a former Head of Mathematics for six years, I have had responsibility for curriculum development, assessment, teaching and learning, staff development and supporting pupils to achieve their potential.

This leadership experience brings an important perspective to tuition. It means that support is not simply about completing more questions or following a worksheet. It is about understanding why a pupil is struggling, identifying the underlying gaps and selecting an appropriate approach to address them.

Evidence-informed teaching

My ongoing doctoral research at Brunel University London focuses on mathematics education, particularly the relationship between ability grouping and mathematics anxiety.

This work has deepened my understanding of the factors that can influence pupils' confidence, engagement and experience of mathematics. It reinforces an important principle behind Future Tuition:

A pupil's confidence and understanding develop together.

We therefore aim to create a supportive environment where pupils can ask questions, make mistakes, revisit difficult ideas and gradually become more independent learners.

A personalised approach

Every pupil brings different strengths, experiences and areas for development. Our approach is therefore centred on diagnosing individual needs rather than assuming that every pupil requires the same intervention.

Whether a pupil needs to consolidate fundamental skills, prepare for an important examination, stretch their mathematical thinking or rebuild confidence after experiencing difficulties, tuition can be adapted accordingly.

Our experience allows us to support pupils not simply to do more mathematics, but to understand it better and approach it with greater confidence.
